Introductions
- Bloomfield, 2006. How Everything Works: Making Physics Out of the Ordinary (Intro to physics for liberal arts majors. This seems worth reading to me because it has a large number of examples of how physics applies to everyday life. Math is minimized but it’s there. I’m guessing this could be used effectively as an intro to physics for teens.)
- OpenStax (Urone, Hinrichs). College Physics (two-semester introductory algebra-based physics course)
- OpenStax (Ling, Sanny, Moebs). University Physics (Vol 1, Vol 2, Vol 3) (Still in the draft stage. “University Physics is designed for the two- or three-semester calculus-based physics course. The text has been developed to meet the scope and sequence of most university physics courses and provides a foundation for a career in mathematics, science, or engineering.”)
- Wolfson and Pasachoff. Physics for Scientists and Engineers, 3e (3e) (This is the text used with Ramamurti Shankar’s online courses at Yale. Used copied used to be cheap, but are now expensive as of September 2016.)
